this girl likes hugs.

my last small group.
the best group ever.
hugs for everyone.

rise and shine.

Goals: Climb Cold Mountain. Check.
After a long hike and a relaxing afternoon in Graveyard Field, Kelly and I retired to our tent at the wee little hour of 7:30pm.
When we woke the next morning we unzipped the tent to this glorious sunrise.

mother's day

I went to REI today to get some equipment for my trip and for camping with Kelly. We are going to conquer Cold Mountain over Memorial Day weekend. The place was a mad house. Apparently there was a huge sale...so awesome for my wallet! But the lines were really long and the people in front of me were stock piling for what appeared to be the next ten years of their lives.

Turns out they were planning a cross country trip. Husband. Wife. And four kids, one of which was only four years old. I asked them what they were up to and the wife told me everyone thought they were crazy to be traveling with such a heard, but that she had done a similar trip when she was a child. And I got so excited for them. And I could just picture my future kids playing with lizards and picking flowers and cuddling up next to me in the snucg little tent.

A-mazing.

Good luck to you folks out there. Have a safe and wonderful adventure. Your kids will NEVER foget this summer.

let the count down begin.

ROAD TRIP: PART ONE.
In one month from today I will be on my way to Philly to pick up my sister.
(PRAYER. LOTS & LOTS OF PRAYER FOR THIS, PLEASE)
She and I will be spending the remaining 13 hours together in the car on our way to Stonington, Maine (see photo above)

Why am I going to Maine, you ask?
You obviously failed to see photo above...

I miss my family.
I need a little respite.
I want to write my book.
I thought it would be fun to be able to say I have worked on a lobster boat.
(I'll let you know about that last part. 3:30am work days...hmmmmm)
